Hey guys, my names Sterling Davis. I'll try to hit the main points of my story because it's pretty long (we'll have plenty of time to talk while traveling.) Just before my 5th birthday doctors found a brain tumor and that lead to 5 brain surgeries and an eye surgery over 2.5 years. There were times we didn't know if I would live but God's faithful and provided. I lost half my vision and 12% of my brain. Something that's stuck with me my entire life is nobody can go back with me when I went in for surgery so every time before I went back my dad would draw a Superman S on my nightgown and put Joshua 1:9 on my nightgown. He said "God is with you wherever you go." Life wasn't easy after surgery though. I had many learning struggles. Couldn't read phrases like "he runs." in 1st grade, couldn't write in a straight line, and had to learn how to do everything again. Since I missed so many days of school with my surgeries I had to be held back in 2nd grade. In May of 2017 my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. We were doing camps all summer and my dad would have to drive her for Chemo and stuff. She is doing much better now. Also that year I had to see a man who was like a second father to me, Jonathon Bean, suffer from brain caner and eventually pass away on September 8th, 2017. God comforted me in this time. I had so many questions. But I learn God is good and worthy to be trusted even when it doesn't feel like it. I had a doctor tell me in February of 2020 that I'd never be able to drive. I found a way, worked more than any other kid to figure out how to drive and on May 21st, 2021 I received my license. With being held back I had to accept that it was for the best. I worked hard though and with the help of family and friends received enough high school credits and was able to reclassify back to my original graduation year. I was told after surgeries that college may not be an option for me. My parents said great we'll love him no matter what. But I worked hard and got into college, into one of the best and most competitive programs, Sports Marketing and Analytics and I work for a pro basketball team. To be completely honest with yall, I'm not the best. That's not my goal. My goal isn't to be the best, coolest, funniest, most loved, most attractive, or smartest person. All that's cool but I want to be the hardest worker. My goal is to outwork everyone. That's where success starts. Talent gets you to success, work ethic gets you to your dreams. There's so many details and important moments and people that I didn't have time to mention in here. My story isn't finished, there's still work to be done, and God is still good and worthy to be trusted.

On a personal note, I'm so excited for North Africa with yall. Yall have my number if you need anything you can call me and I'd love to talk. I love each one of yall.
